Game engines and me
My favourite game engine is Game maker: Studio since it is quick and easy to experiment with new mechanics. The bane of gamemaker, to me, is the level editor. I have made a few games in Unreal Engine 4 and am quite accustomed to it. The editor and the block-modeling work well for both level blockouts and decorating. I handle the blueprint system well enough to make simple mechanics and user interfaces. When it comes to creating game mechanics in 3D games, Unity is my preference simply because it is not as complex as Unreal engine. Education In highschool i studied digital production in gothenburg, covering java programming, photoshop and focused on 3D modeling, rendering and lighting in audodesk maya. When i finnished highschool i was deciding between studying game design or 3D graphics. I ended up moving to Skövde to study 3D graphics at the University of Skövde. After two years i quit because the final year was going to be focused too much towards an academic study of games rather than creating games. I am about to finish my education for game design and scripting at Folkuniversitetet in skövde. Games I enjoy a quite wide variety of games, my favourite being Cave Story. Other games i really like are Battlerite, Portal, Factorio, Hotline Miami and Dota2. |
